Every person on this planet has the capability to climb all the obstacles to achieve the final destination. Doesn’t matter what kind of obstacles they are. The only thing we need to polish our capabilities so we can reach our destination more peacefully, happily, and without injuries.
Mountaineers or trekkers go on hiking, climbing
different highest peaks in the world like Mount Everest, Kangchenjunga, Lhotse, Makalu, and Manaslu. More the highest peak more the difficulties are. The very common thing in high altitudes is less oxygen level. Which makes climbing more difficult and unsuccessful summits. Lack of oxygen leads to hypoxia which may be presented by mild to severe signs and symptoms. Symptoms like confusion, restlessness, breathlessness, tachycardia ( heart rate increases ), and bluish skin. Some climbers may get permanent disabilities. Thousands of climbers lost their life due to severe hypoxia.
To avoid this disappointing thing climbers need to work on to increase their lung capacity, on breathing patterns. Healthy human uses their lungs only about 70%, and that too without any lung disease. If we could increase to 80 to 95% it would be more easy to climb any summit. Though working on the lungs is making our climbing easy, we also need to work on other parts of the body like the heart, joint mobility, muscle strength, mental strength, and cool-down techniques in high altitudes.
Humans are blessed with wonderful things YOGA, a very popular Indian tradition works in all aspects of human life. Especially Maharshi Pantajli’s Asthang Yog is all-time famous and accepted by the whole world. It has eight angas ( Limbs ) like Yam, Niyam, Aasan, Pranayam, Pratyahara, Dharana, Dhyan, and Samadhi. Each limb has benefits for humans on different aspect of body. Though all the above limbs are important for climbers, the most important limbs are Asnas, pranayama ( breathing techniques ), and Dhyan ( Meditation ). If anybody starts yoga with any of the above limbs other limbs come all together and this is the beauty of Yoga.
Asanas works on muscle and joints even on the mind as well, Pranayama directly works on Breath, and whole respiratory system, and the Mind also. Meditation has a tremendous effect on the mind.
This program YOGA FOR MOUNTAINEERS is designed considering all the difficulties climbers face during climbing in high altitudes. This program include unique breathing techniques which increases lungs capacity, make the respiratory system more powerful. Asanas which opens the lungs, muscle strength, joint mobility. Other Yoga techniques also work on another aspect of the human body.
